It's finally here — the first mach Objects product is now available to order. After around 8 months of development, many iterations and tests, the first batch is live. Limited to 13 pieces, assembled to order by hand in my room in Cologne. Materials: beech, stainless steel, leather. Handmade in Germany.

Two to three years ago I built a small bag to carry my headphones — a simple construction that turned out to work really well. Instead of thread, I used screws to join the pieces, which makes the bag easy to repair, modify and expand with new modules. I recently transferred the same technique to a larger bag, which became a birthday gift for my mum on her 60th, made to fit her specifications exactly.

I finally built a lamp for my room that creates the kind of soft, indirect light I had in mind. The structure is made from wood and sketch paper, held together with a large number of leftover screws that would otherwise have gone to waste. I really like how the light shines through the paper and the shadows of the screws create a pattern on the walls.

Three quick ideas turned into proof of concept objects: a detachable wine stem that attaches to any glass via suction cup; an M8 nut repurposed as a screw-on pencil cap — with a built-in sharpener and eraser to follow; and a picture frame built from cardboard, sheet metal and screws, where images are held by a magnet and unused ones stored in a compartment behind the frame.
